We are made up of stories. Human beings have a love for stories, a need for stories to make sense of the world. Your influential idea, cutting-edge research or brilliant product can ignite your audience’s imagination – if your story is a good one.
Research and publishing technologies now allow for a dizzying mix of multimedia in newspaper articles and research reports. We know how to incorporate these bells and whistles into our research, but the heart of any story is words.
At Hlaziya Solutions we have been using our words for a long time. We have written for national government departments and Top 25 JSE companies. Why not let us write and edit for you?
Content creation for Vulekamali website
Vulekamali is an online budget data portal that was created by the National Treasury in partnership with Imali Yethu, a coalition of civil society organisations. Imali Yethu and the National Treasury created Vulekamali as part of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) initiative that “aims to secure concrete commitments from governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance”.
National Treasury and Imali Yethu contracted OpenUp, a technology / data NGO specialising in open data and civic activism, to create Vulekamali. Hlaziya Solutions partnered with OpenUp for the Vulekamali project.
Our main role in the Vulekamali project was to make government budgets and the budgeting process more accessible to non-specialists and to users who didn’t have a background in economics or finance. We created a number of users’ guides for different elements of the budget process. Our users’ guides included manuals for understanding national revenue and spending, conditional grants, adjusted budgets, and annual reports.
Vulekamali’s ambitious aims include a global reach of one million users on the portal. We are very proud to be part of this historic project for the public good.
